God called me to serve Him as a priest, through his people and through his word. The words spoken to Joshua 1:8 came and reminded me of a chorus I used to sing as a youngster. “Be thou strong and very courageous, for I have commanded thee, Be not afraid, be not dismayed thou wilt have victory. I will be with thee what e’re betide, Captain and leader friend and guide.” He confirmed his call during a holiday at Lee Abbey, where the talks were all about James the brother of Jesus, and his leadership of the new Community of Christians.
I get most excited about the service on Easter Morning. It is a wonderful service of celebration, declaration and witness to God’s amazing great love to humankind is giving his Son Jesus to save us and bring us into God’s intimate presence.
